Pure Ecstasy
The crisp, clean sound of waves rushing towards the beach was relaxing to Tristan’s ears. He strolled aimlessly on the unearthly beauty surrounding him. The setting sun to the west, the trees swaying lazily to the east, the sand parting easily beneath his boots, and the Wingulls chirping blissfully overhead. The serenity of the area was overwhelming, and Tristan loved it. The peace and quiet was exactly what he wanted, and he never wanted to leave. He day dreamed of lingering forever by the sea, forever staying within this paradise of beauty and perfection. He gracefully sat on the sand, gazing into the distance, towards the setting sun, slowly decending towards the water, is if falling to it’s death. The picture was indeed ideal, something no one could imagine. A sudden lust to leave the burdens of the world he lived in, to never awaken from the dream that was his reality, to stay in the heaven he had found, that he’d been searching for for so long.
He lay down, too many thoughts clouding his mind, unable to bear the pain of knowing he would need to leave sometime, to again join the chaos of the outer world. He slammed his fist weakly into the sand in frustration, asking himself why the world couldn’t be exactly like this. Perfect, serene, quiet, blissful, gorgeous, and yet so very taunting. Taunting him by whispering secretly in the waves that he would have to leave some day. That he could never stay here for all eternity, and he told himself he’d prove nature wrong. He stood up, and looked carefully around him. Not a single human soul was near, only the happily soaring Wingulls, and brainless floating Tentacools drifting in the waves. He would build a home near the beach, and live forever here. He would love to stay here forever, and now knew it was possible.
He then sat again on the soft, comforting sand, to think of how lucky he was to forever thrive in this place, never having to leave. But then thoughts raced into his mind; he would have to leave sometime, he’d promised himself to see the world, not just a single place. He was sad again, knowing he could not stay. He lowered his head, and admitted defeat to nature’s cunning ways.
To be continued…
